Waiheke Jazz & Blues in the Vines and Waiheke Jazz Club invite you to chill, thrill, swill, or rather sip, snooze, schmooze to the sound of Auckland's finest jazz musicians including Waiheke's own. Great live jazz music to dance or dream to. Bar & BBQ available. Stay for an hour or spend the afternoon from 1-6pm. Bring friends or meet some new ones in relaxed Waiheke style!

Waiheke's favourite off-road run and walk, this annual event has a breathtaking new coastal course for 2010. 5k, 10k and 18k events all start and finish within a few minutes walk of the Waiheke ferry terminal at Matiatia. The course follows Waiheke's walkway network along the southern coast of the island, through countless bays and bush reserves. Finishing in the busy tourist village of Oneroa makes it easy to add a visit to the beach, a cafe or one of our world-class vineyards.

Everything is free to enter and great prizes are to be won. Not just horse racing - tractors, Sealegs and wheelbarrows thunder down the track and running races are also hotly contested. Competitions to suit everyone - there is a massive Tug o War where the winning team can win up to $1000 for the charity of their choice, Sandworks open to all ages, a Big Dig for children. Fashion in the Field for the ladies with four categories, historic bathing belles, avante garde, fancy dress and Mad Hatter. Judging 3pm. Mad Hatter (make a hat and bring it with you) for children, judging at 10.30am Get early ferries from Auckland to be in time for your event. Registration on the day or contact event co-ordinator to pre-register. Go to the website for details. Race packs $20 and a chance to win $1000 Woolworths vouchers.

Fullers ferry from Downtown Auckland and Sealink from Half Moon Bay, buses from Waiheke side to the Races. Everyone is welcome, see you there.

Ostend Market Saturdays from 7.30am to approx noon Ostend Market
Weekly market, rain or shine with both local and regional stalls. Lots of yummy local foods and produce, arts and crafts, natural health including massage, reflexology, iridology, flower essences and more, local authors, secondhand books, all sorts of jewelry, beauty products, plants and decorations for the garden, bric a brac and collectibles, new and secondhand clothing and goods plus much, much more. Stalls both inside and out.
